Additional Qualification Courses (AQ)
Additional Qualifications

Additional Qualification (AQ) courses provide opportunities for teachers to gain information about and strategies for teaching in a particular subject area, to expand the repertoire of teaching subjects and to qualify for salary increments. Additional Qualification courses can qualify you to teach in another division/subject area and help you improve your current teaching skills. AQ courses help educators meet the needs of a variety of learners, adapt to the changing curriculum, incorporate current research into daily teaching practices and integrate technology.

Teachers who hold a Certificate of Qualification may complete in-service professional development programs that lead to additional qualifications. These in-service programs are offered by course providers approved by the Ontario College of Teachers and are offered as one-session programs, three-session specialist programs and one-session honour specialist programs. The Ontario College of Teachers may grant equivalent standing for some qualifications if a teacher has completed comparable coursework at a faculty of education outside Ontario or as part of a graduate program in education.

FEES: All Courses $750 to be paid by cheque, money order or credit card payments.
